Superprestige cyclo-cross - 30.12.2012 - Diegem

Round 6 of the Superprestige cyclo-cross took place after dark in Diegem, in the suburbs of Brussels. Katerina Nash was fastest away in the women's race, ahead of Cant, Chainel, Stultiens and Van Loy A second group contained Vanderbeken, Miller, Dombrovski and Gabriella Day. At mid-race only Sanne Cant and Katerina Nash remained in the lead … … followed by Lucie Chainel and Sabrina Stultiens. Katerina Nash wins the race ahead of the Belgian and the French champion. The women's podium in Diegem: Sanne Cant, Katerina Nash, Lucie Chainel. American Logan Owen had the best start in the junior race ahead of world champion Mathieu Van der Poel. Martijn Budding leads the Young Fidea riders … … followed by the rest of the peloton: more than 70 riders in the junior race. As of the second lap, Mathieu Van der Poel took the lead of the race Logan Owen, Quinten Hermans and Nicolas Cleppe had to settle down with positions two, three and four. The latest winner of the Grand-prix COMAT in Contern, Thijs Aerts, was fourth in the race at one moment, but finished in 10th position. Tim Merlier ends 11th in the result list of the day. A former winner of the GP COMAT, Jakub Skala, takes 19th place in Diegem, just behind Van de Kinderen who was fourth this season in Contern. He was also in Contern once: former junior world champion Thomas Paprstka Klaas Vantornout is leading the elite men on the first lap … … in front of Rob Peeters ... … Lars Van der Haar … … Zdenek Stybar … … Bart Aernouts … … Kevin Pauwels … … and Tom Meeusen. Bad start for Niels Albert … … and Sven Nys, who is riding around position 20 after one lap.
